USMC Marine Sgt. Mark P. Adams, 24, of
Morrisville, N.C.; assigned to the II Marine Expeditionary Force
Augmentation Command Element, Marine Forces Reserve, Camp Lejeune, N.C.;
attached to 2nd Marine Division, II MEF (Forward); killed Oct. 15 by an
improvised explosive device while conducting combat operations against
enemy forces in Saqlawiyah, Iraq. Adams, Leonard
W., USA Army Sgt. Leonard W. Adams, 42, of Mooresville, N.C.; assigned to the 105th Military Police Battalion, 18th Military Police Brigade, North Carolina Army National Guard, Asheville, N.C.; died Jan. 24 of non-combat-related injuries at Camp Bucca, Iraq.
Adams, Roger L. Jr., USA Sgt. Roger L. Adams Jr., 36, of
Jacksonville, N.C.; assigned to the 120th Combined Arms Battalion,
Wilmington, N.C.; died from wounds suffered when an improvised explosive
device detonated near his vehicle June 29, in Baghdad, Iraq. Also died
from the same incident were Sgt. Juan C. Baldeosingh, Spc. Robert L.
Bittiker, and Sgt. 1st Class Edward C. Kramer, all from North Carolina. Anderson, Brian
Edward, USMC Marine Lance Cpl. Brian E. Anderson, 26,
of Durham, N.C.; assigned to the 2nd Light Armored Reconnaissance
Battalion, 2nd Marine Division, Camp Lejeune, N.C.; killed in a
non-hostile vehicle accident west of Nasiriyah, Iraq. Bacon, Henry A.,
USA Army Sgt. 1st Class Henry A. Bacon, 45, of Wagram, N.C.; assigned to Headquarters and Headquarters Troop, 1st Squadron, 10th Armored Cavalry Regiment, 4th Aviation Brigade, 4th Infantry Division, Fort Hood, Texas; killed Feb. 20 when he was struck by a recovery vehicle while he was assisting a disabled vehicle in Dujayl, Iraq.
Baldeosingh, Juan C.,
USA Sgt. Juan C. Baldeosingh, 30, of Newport, N.C.;
assigned to the 120th Combined Arms Battalion, Wilmington, N.C.; died
from wounds suffered when an improvised explosive device detonated near
his vehicle June 29, in Baghdad, Iraq. Also died from the same incident
were Sgt. Roger L. Adams Jr, Spc. Robert L. Bittiker, and Sgt. 1st Class
Edward C. Kramer, all from North Carolina.
Marine Cpl. Felipe C. Barbosa, 21, of
High Point, N.C.; assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 6th Marine Regiment,
2nd Marine Division, II Marine Expeditionary Force, Camp Lejeune, N.C.;
killed Jan. 28 by a non-hostile vehicle accident in Fallujah, Iraq.
Barnard, Leevi K., USA Army 1st Lt. Leevi K. Barnard, 28, of Mount Airy, N.C.; assigned to the 252nd Combined Arms Battalion, Fayetteville, North Carolina; died May 21 near Baghdad, Iraq, of wounds sustained when his unit was attacked by enemy forces using improvise explosive devices while on dismounted patrol. Also killed were Major Jason E. George and Sgt. Paul F. Brooks
Army Maj. Larry J. Bauguess Jr.,36, of
Moravian Falls, N.C.; assigned to the 4th Brigade Special Troops
Battalion, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 82nd Airborne Division, Fort Bragg,
N.C.; died May 14 in Teri Mengel, Pakistan, of wounds sustained from
enemy small-arms fire.
Army Spc. Bradley S. Beard, 22, of
Chapel Hill, N.C.; assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 17th Field Artillery
Regiment, 2nd Infantry Division, Camp Casey, Korea; killed Oct. 14 when
an improvised explosive device detonated near his vehicle as he was
doing reconnaissance for explosives at Camp Ramadi, Iraq.
Benson, Darry, USA Army Sgt. Darry Benson, 46, of Winterville, N.C.; assigned to 730th Quartermaster Battalion, North Carolina Army National Guard, Ahoskie, N.C.; died Aug. 27 from a non-combat related cause in Camp Virginia, Kuwait.
Army Cpl. Mark A. Bibby , 25, of Watha, N.C.; assigned to Headquarters, Headquarters Detachment, 422 Civil Affairs Battalion, Greensboro, N.C.; died when a vehicle in the convoy he was riding with hit an improvised explosive device while traveling to a water treatment facility on July 21 in Baghdad.
Bittiker, Robert L., USA Spc. Robert L. Bittiker, 39, of Jacksonville, N.C.; assigned to the 120th Combined Arms Battalion, Wilmington, N.C.; died from wounds suffered when an improvised explosive device detonated near his vehicle June 29, in Baghdad, Iraq. Also died from the same incident were Sgt. Roger L. Adams Jr., Sgt. Juan C. Baldeosingh, and Sgt. 1st Class Edward C. Kramer, all from North Carolina.
Blaney, Joshua C., USA Army Cpl. Joshua C. Blaney, 25, of
Matthews, N.C.; assigned to the 1st Battalion, 503rd Infantry Regiment
(Airborne), 173rd Airborne Brigade, Camp Ederle, Italy; died Dec. 12 at
Forward Operating Base Curry, Afghanistan from wounds sustained when his
vehicle encountered an improvised explosive device. Also killed was
Staff Sgt. Michael J. Gabel.
Marine Gunnery Sgt. Darrell W. Boatman, 38, of Fayetteville, N.C.; assigned to 8th Engineer Support Battalion, 2nd Marine Logistics Group, II Marine Expeditionary Force, Camp Lejeune, N.C.; died Nov. 4 at Landstuhl Regional Medical Center, Germany, from wounds sustained Nov. 2 from an improvised explosive device while conducting combat operations in the vicinity of Habbaniyah, Iraq.
Army Sgt. Larry R. Bowman, 29, of Granite Falls, N.C.; assigned to the 513th Transportation Company, 57th Transportation Battalion, 593rd Corps Support Group, Fort Lewis, Wash.; died April 13 in Baghdad, of wounds sustained when his vehicle struck an improvised explosive device.

Battalion, 7th Sustainment Brigade, 10th Mountain Division
(Light Infantry), Fort
Eustis, Va.; died
March 12 in Tallil, Iraq, of wounds suffered when his vehicle was hit by
indirect fire. Also killed were, Spc. Dustin C. Jackson and Pfc. Tenzin
L. Samten.
Army Spc. Lunsford B. Brown II, 27, of
Creedmore, N.C.; assigned to A Company, 302nd Military Intelligence
Battalion, Patton Barracks, Germany; killed Sept. 20 in a mortar attack
in Abu Ghraib, Iraq.
Marine Lance Cpl. Benjamin S. Bryan, 23,
of Lumberton, N.C.; assigned to 3rd Battalion, 1st Marine Regiment, 1st
Marine Division, I Marine Expeditionary Force, Marine Corps Base Camp
Pendleton, Calif.; killed Nov. 13 by enemy action in Anbar province,
Iraq.
Army Lt. Col. Charles H. Buehring, 40, of Fayetteville, N.C.; assigned to Army Central Command Headquarters (Forward), Fort McPherson, Ga.; killed Oct. 26 during a rocket-propelled grenade attack on the Rasheed Hotel in Baghdad.
Marine Lance Cpl. Kenneth J. Butler, 19, of Rowan, N.C.; assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 2nd Marine Regiment, 2nd Marine Division, II Marine Expeditionary Force, Camp Lejeune, N.C.; killed Oct. 21 by an improvised explosive device while conducting combat operations against enemy forces near Amariyah, Iraq.
