Dennis Jallah Jr. 49, of Fayetteville, N.C.; assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 10th Aviation Regiment, 10th Aviation Brigade, 10th Mountain Division (Light Infantry), Fort Drum, N.Y.; died March 28 of a non-combat-related cause at Walter Reed Army Medical Center, Washington, D.C., after being medically evacuated from Afghanistan, via Landstuhl Regional Medical Center, Germany, on Feb. 16.

Also killed were Chief Warrant Officer Christopher C. Johnson, Chief Warrant Officer Jackie L. McFarlane, Staff Sgt. Sean P. Fisher and Staff Sgt. Stanley B. Reynolds.

Thomas J. Butler IV, 25, of Wilmington, N.C., and Army Sgt. Jeremy F. Hardison, 23, of Maysville, N.C.

Also killed were Army Cpl. Jonathan M. Walls and Army Pvt. Patrick S. Fitzgibbon.

Justice, 21, of Grover, N.C., died Aug. 17 at Landstuhl Regional Medical Center, Germany from injuries suffered on Aug. 14 from enemy small-arms fire in Wardak province, Afghanistan. Justice was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 503rd Infantry Regiment, 173rd Airborne Brigade Combat Team, Caserma Ederle in Vicenza, Italy.

Also died from the same incident were Sgt. Roger L. Adams Jr., Sgt. Juan C. Baldeosingh, and Spc. Robert L. Bittike, all from North Carolina.

Army Sgt. Elmer C. Krause, 40, of Greensboro, N.C.; assigned to 724th Transportation Company, Army Reserve, Bartonville, Ill.; unaccounted for in Iraq since April 9, when his convoy came under attack by individuals using rocket-propelled grenades and small-arms fire, his remains were recovered April 23.

The incident is under investigation.

Army Spc. James I. Lambert III, 22, of Raleigh, N.C.; assigned to the 407th Combat Support Battalion, Fort Bragg, N.C.; killed by a stray bullet fired during what was believed to be a celebratory event by local nationals July 31 in Baghdad.

Spc. Patrick L. Lay II, 21, of Fletcher, N.C., died Aug. 11 of injuries sustained when an improvised explosive device detonated near his vehicle in Kandahar province, Afghanistan. He was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 32nd Infantry Regiment, 3rd Brigade Combat Team, 10th Mountain Division, Fort Drum, N.Y. Also killed from the same incident were Sgt. Edward J. Frank II, Spc. Janeel T. Freeman, Spc. Jordan M. Morris, and Pfc. Rueben J. Lopez.
