Taylor, David G.,
USA Army Maj. David G. Taylor, 37, of North Carolina; assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 6th Infantry Regiment, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 1st Armored Division, Baumholder, Germany; died Oct. 22 from injuries sustained when an improvised explosive device detonated near his vehicle in Baghdad.
Taylor, Joel A., USA Army Spc. Joel A. Taylor, 20, of Pinetown, N.C.; assigned to the 1st Squadron, 3rd Armored Cavalry Regiment, Fort Hood, Texas; died June 25 in Mosul, Iraq, of wounds sustained when his vehicle encountered an improvised explosive device on June 24. Also killed were Sgt. Alejandro A. Dominguez and Pfc. James M. Yohn.
Teewia, Prince
K., USA Army Spc. Prince K. Teewia, 27, of Durham, N.C.; assigned to the 1st Battalion, 506th Infantry Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division, Fort Campbell, Ky.; killed Dec. 29 when an improvised explosive device detonated near his Humvee during combat operations in Baghdad.
Tellier, Zackary
D., USA Army Sgt. Zachary D. Tellier, 31, of
Charlotte, N.C.; assigned to the 4th Squadron, 73rd Cavalry Regiment,
4th Brigade Combat Team, 82nd Airborne Division, Fort Bragg, N.C.; died
Sept. 29 at Firebase Wilderness, Afghanistan, of wounds sustained when
insurgents attacked his unit using small-arms fire. Thompson,
Christopher W., USN Navy Hospital Corpsman 3rd Class Christopher W. Thompson, 25, of N. Wilkesboro, N.C.; assigned to Echo Company, 2nd Battalion, 2nd Marines, 8th Regimental Combat Team, 2nd Marine Division, Fleet Marine Forces Atlantic, based in Camp Lejeune, N.C.; killed Oct. 21 by an improvised explosive device while conducting combat operations in Anbar province, Iraq.
Tosto, Michael
L., USA Army Sgt. Michael L. Tosto, 24, of Apex, N.C.; assigned to Company A, 1st Battalion, 35th Armored Regiment, 1st Armored Division, Smith Barracks, Germany; died June 17, at Camp Wolf, Kuwait. He died from a non-combat related cause.
Vick, Eric R.,
USA Army Staff Sgt. Eric R. Vick, 25, of Spring Hope, N.C.; assigned to the 2nd Brigade Special Troops Battalion, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 10th Mountain Division, Fort Drum, N.Y.; died April 1 in Baghdad when an improvised explosive device detonated near his vehicle during combat operations. Also killed were Army Staff Sgt. David A. Mejias, Army Sgt. Robert M. McDowell and Army Spc. William G. Bowling.

Charlotte, N.C.; assigned to the 2nd Squadron, 101st Cavalry Regiment,
New York Army National Guard, Jamestown, N.Y.; died Oct. 2 of injuries
sustained from a vehicle incident in Qara Bagh Karez, Afghanistan. Voss, Michael S.,
USA Army Staff Sgt. Michael S. Voss, 35, of Aberdeen, N.C.; assigned to the 1st Battalion, 120th Infantry Regiment, North Carolina Army National Guard, Wilmington, N.C.; killed Oct. 8 when his convoy vehicle encountered an improvised explosive device and small-arms fire near Tikrit, Iraq.
Wahl, Gregory L.,
USA Army Sgt. Gregory L. Wahl, 30, of Salisbury, N.C.; assigned to the 4th Cavalry Regiment, 1st Infantry Division, Vilseck, Germany; one of four soldiers killed May 3 when their military vehicle left the road and flipped over in a canal in Balad, Iraq.
Walker, Morris L., USA Army Pfc. Morris L. Walker, 23, of
Chapel Hill, N.C.; assigned to the 1st Battalion, 501st Parachute
Infantry Regiment, 4th Airborne Brigade Combat Team, 25th Infantry
Division, Fort Richardson, Alaska; died Aug. 18 in Paktika Province,
Afghanistan, of wounds suffered when an improvised explosive device
detonated near his vehicle. Also killed was Staff Sgt. Clayton P. Bowen.
West, Laurent J., USA Army Staff Sgt. Laurent J. West, 32, of Raleigh, N.C.; assigned to the 3rd Squadron, 73rd Cavalry Regiment, 1st Brigade Combat Team, 82nd Airborne Division, Fort Bragg, N.C.; died March 11 near Kishkishkia, Iraq, of wounds sustained when his vehicle encountered an improvised explosive device.
White,
Christopher N., USMC Marine Pfc. Christopher N. White, 23, of Southport, N.C.; assigned to 1st Battalion, 1st Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division, I Marine Expeditionary Force, Camp Pendleton, Calif.; killed June 20 while conducting combat operations in Karmah, Iraq. Also killed were Cpl. Christopher D. Leon, Lance Cpl. Brandon J. Webb and Staff Sgt. Benjamin D. Williams.
Whitener, Joey
D., USA Army Pfc. Joey D. Whitener, 19, of Nebo, N.C.; assigned to the 1st Battalion, 320th Field Artillery, 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault), Fort Campbell, Ky.; killed Nov. 15 when two 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) UH-60 Black Hawk helicopters crashed in Mosul, Iraq.
Williams, David B., USA Army Sgt. David B. Williams, 26, of Tarboro, N.C.; died March 22 in Baghdad, Iraq, from wounds suffered when his vehicle encountered an improvised explosive device. He were assigned to the 1132nd Military Police Company, North Carolina Army National Guard, Rocky Mount, N.C. Also killed were Sgt. Thomas C. Ray, II and Spc. David S. Stelmat.
Wilson, Lee C., USA Army Sgt. Lee C. Wilson, 30, of Chapel Hill, N.C.; assigned to the 1st Squadron, 9th Cavalry Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Regiment, Fort Bliss, Texas; killed Sept. 6 when an improvised explosive device detonated near his vehicle during combat operations in Mosul, Iraq. Also died the following day from wounds suffered in the same incident were Spc. Jason J. Hernandez and Spc. Thomas L. Hilbert
